Using the shortening or nonstick spray, grease the bottoms and sides of six 6-ounce custard cups or 3/4-cup muffin cups. Place the cups in a shallow baking pan.
In a mixing bowl, beat together eggs, milk, and oil. Add flour and salt; beat until smooth.
Fill the greased cups half full with batter. Bake in a 400 degree F oven for 40 minutes or until very firm. Serve hot.
